| Service Technician Start Date: Immediate opening B&D Boilers has a long history of versatile personnel. This has allowed it to establish a reputation for quality fabrication, construction and repair. We are always looking for the highest quality talent for mechanics with knowledge of engineering requirements; and experience assembling structural forms and pressure vessels. General Requirements: • Respects safety policy and promotes the safety of self and others. • High regard for quality and efficiency. • Six years of field experience. • Physical ability (including vision) to perform required tasks. Able to work in confined spaces. • Professional appearance and demeanor. • Strong communication skills. • Willingness to travel for out-of-town jobs. • Willingness to work extended hours, varying shifts and emergent work. • Able to work in pressure situations with little or no supervision. • Willingness to take responsibility for assigned equipment and inventory. • Personal Tools Required (as itemized in Terms of Employment). • Six years of field experience (or equivalent education, certification or accreditation) (Exceptions may be approved by the hiring officer). • Safe Driver (DMV record must meet the requirements of the Company insurance provider) (Exceptions may be approved by the hiring officer). Specific for Service Technicians: • Ability to locate manufacturers and research systems for proper operation guidelines. • Experience performing inspections, service, minor piping & refractory, installation and mechanical systems. • Working knowledge of electricity and electrical systems - understand the difference between control voltage, supply voltage, and low voltage. AC and DC voltage controls. • 24-hour rotational on call required. Understanding and experience with: • Industrial firetube and watertube boilers - scotch marine firetube boilers, and package watertube boilers of various manufacturers. • Burner Control Systems - installing, troubleshooting, and servicing various types of Linkageless and PLC Burner Management Systems such as Fireye, • Honeywell, Autoflame, and other U.L. listed flame safeguard systems. • Various micro modulation (linkageless or electronic parallel positioning) control systems and principals of operation. • Starting up, servicing, and setting fuel air mixtures for various boiler and process burners. • Forced draft combustion of multiple fuels. • Local air quality control standards. • Starting up and servicing various controls on ancillary boiler room equipment such as DA tanks, Blow down vessels, Feed water controls, etc. • Water quality, softeners and maintenance.
